Safeguarding at Bloomsbury
At Bloomsbury Football, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. All staff members, regardless of their role, understand their responsibility in keeping children safe.
We believe it is essential to take a proactive, transparent, and practical approach to safeguarding. We consistently review our processes, assessing new risks and exploring ways of ensuring the standards we set out in our policies are carried out in practice, all incidents and potential concerns are reported, and children and adults at risk’s wellbeing is held in the utmost importance.
Our Commitments
In order to effectively fulfil our responsibility to safeguard our members, it is essential that those working directly with children are well versed in spotting safeguarding concerns, managing urgent situations, and reporting concerns. To ensure this, all staff members involved in our programmes receive an in-person safeguarding onboarding session, achieve a minimum FA level 1 safeguarding children certificate, attend six annual safeguarding-specific CPDs, have an in-date enhanced DBS check, and are recruited in line with Safer Recruitment standards.

Club Welfare Officer
As part of his role as Head of Safeguarding and Governance, Peter Marment is our Club Welfare Officer. With a background in safeguarding, mental health, and football, Peter works closely with coaches, parents, and players to create an inclusive, supportive, and safe environment across the entire organisation.
Passionate about youth development and player welfare, Peter is the first point of contact for any safeguarding concerns and is committed to upholding the highest standards of care and responsibility at Bloomsbury Football.
For any concerns, questions or reports Peter can be reached on 07514724242, p.marment@bloomsburyfootball.com or safeguarding@bloomsburyfootball.com.
