OUR FOOTBALL ACADEMY

Bloomsbury’s Football Academy provides a development pathway for skilled players to advance their game.

Squads (boys and girls from U7 to U18) participate in weekly training sessions and competitive grassroots fixtures, led by an elite coaching team dedicated to helping players progress on and off the pitch. Players looking to join the Bloomsbury Football Academy are required to attend a trial day.

HOW TO JOIN

Every aspiring young player looking to join the Bloomsbury Football Academy must complete a trial, which run on Saturday mornings throughout the season.

Successful trialists then will join their squad, when training schedules and match fixtures are shared. Matches vary by age group and league, but typically are on Friday evenings and Sundays.

That includes making sure quality football is affordable for all. It’s why we offer financial support for all our programmes.

Financial support means 25-100% discounts on price for players from low-income households.

  • How do I join the Football Academy?

    All players looking to join the Bloomsbury Football Academy must complete a trial. Trial days run regularly throughout the season, for all age groups.

    Registering for a trial in advance is essential. This can be done via our website.

  • Where does the Football Academy train?

    Training sessions for the Bloomsbury Football Academy vary depending on age group. Typically, Academy teams train after school multiple times a week. Our team will provide a full timetable of training times and venues should your child successfully complete their trial.

    Training venues are located across North London, primarily in Camden, St. John’s Wood, Islington and Tufnell Park.

  • Who coaches the Football Academy?

    Every Bloomsbury Football Academy team is led by a qualified professional.

    As a minimum, all coaches hold an FA Level One qualification and are DBS checked. Any coach working with children aged eight and under also has a paediatric first aid qualification.

  • What can I expect from the Football Academy?

    The Bloomsbury Football Academy aims to improve players’ technical and tactical skills on the pitch, while ensuring that emphasis is also placed on building up transferable skills like communication, teamwork and resilience.

    Academy teams train multiple times per week, engage in competitive fixtures, and have the opportunity to attend unique events and experiences – including international tours.

  • How much does the Football Academy cost?

    If your child successfully joins the Football Academy, the cost is on a monthly subscription, paid on the first on the month. This covers all training sessions and associated match fees, if any.

    The starting cost of a Football Academy subscription is £170 per player per month.
