History of the partnership
LALIGA arrived in the UK in 2020, with the aim to promote the growth of grassroots football. Bloomsbury Football Foundation have partnered with LALIGA since 2022, to make the sport more accessible and teach Londoners more about Spanish football.
Over the years, the partnership has grown to represent 16 Spanish teams across two venues. Plus, the annual Girls Schools Football Tournament hosts 128 players from local primary schools each summer in a fun-filled, sun-soaked festival of sport.

LALIGA FAQs
What are the Bloomsbury x LALIGA sessions?
Bloomsbury Football Foundation’s LALIGA sessions are a semi-competitive weekly league.
All players play matches on Saturday mornings for their assigned LALIGA club, against other teams in their league. The matches are only against other Bloomsbury players, representing other LALIGA clubs.
It offers the perfect competitive grassroots training environment, for those players keen to test their skills and improve in match based situations.
At the end of the season, the teams at the top of their venue’s division are crowned Bloomsbury x LALIGA Champions!
How does the LALIGA competition work?
All teams in the Bloomsbury Football Foundation x LALIGA sessions compete weekly in matches.
Every team plays every week, guaranteeing match time for all players. Games consist of 2x 20 minute halves. Kick offs are always between 10am and 12pm on Saturday mornings, throughout the year.
Who can join?
Boys and Girls of all ability levels, ages 10-15, can join the Bloomsbury Football Foundation x LALIGA competition.

How much does it cost?
The cost of a monthly subscription for the Bloomsbury Football Foundation x LALIGA competition is £65 per player. It runs every weekend during termtime.

What LALIGA team do I join?
Every player that joins the Bloomsbury Football Foundation x LALIGA competition represents a real LALIGA club on the pitch. Players wear full replica kit of the clubs, who all come from the top divisions of Spanish football.
The clubs represented at our Tufnell Park LALIGA session for 2025/26 are: Atlético de Madrid, CA Osasuna, Villarreal CF, Girona FC, RCD Espanyol, Real Oviedo, CD Léganes and Granada CF.
The clubs represented at our St. John’s Wood LALIGA session for 2025/26 are: Athletic Club, Real Betis, Valencia CF, RC Celta, Deportivo Alavés, RCD Mallorca, RC Deportivo, UD Las Palmas and CD Tenerife.
